The builder

Plants

Plants scatters vegetation across the ground. You choose what to plant, then drag to plant it or erase it.

Plant and Erase

Plants has two verbs: Plant and Erase. Both work as brushes, so planting a forest is a matter of dragging over the area rather than placing trees one at a time.

The panel opens with a grid of the plants available in this world. Pick one, then drag.

Where it lands

Size and Strength behave as they do in the other brushes: Size is the area, Strength is how densely a stroke fills it.

Slope range is the control that does most of the work here. Limit it and plants stop appearing on cliff faces, which is usually the difference between a hillside that reads as natural and one that reads as sprayed on.

Making it look unplanted

Advanced holds the variation controls: Scale, Height offset, Turned and Leaning. Turned varies the rotation, Leaning varies the tilt, and Scale varies the size, so that no two plants are identical copies.

There is also an Align to normal toggle, which stands plants up along the slope rather than straight up, and a Shade slider for how dark the planting reads.
