Plans and usage

There are three plans. What they differ on is how much you can ask Director 1 to do — not which engine you get.

The three plans

Free is $0 a month and needs no credit card. Indie is $10 a month. Pro is $50 a month. Both paid plans are billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time.

Every plan includes unlimited Stage Engine. The builder, the engine, your projects and exporting are the same on all three. Free has limited usage, Indie has more than Free, and Pro has five times more than Indie.

There is no team plan, no per-seat pricing and no enterprise tier. It is a desktop app.

The pricing page on flockbay.com is the authority on current prices and is where you change your plan. Prices there do not include applicable tax.

What "usage" means

Usage is what Director 1 costs to run. Flockbay pays for that and meters it against your plan — you do not bring your own API key and you are not billed per token.

It is measured in money rather than in messages, because a request that generates a landscape costs very different amounts depending on what it turns out to involve. A large monthly allowance is worth more than a large message count.

Nothing you do locally counts against it. Building by hand in Arrange, playing your game, exporting a build and opening the project in Godot are all free of usage, because none of them touch our servers.

The two paid-only features

Connecting your own agent over MCP requires a paid plan. So does connecting your own ChatGPT account to run Director 1.

Both are ways of spending less of our usage, which is exactly why they sit behind the plan rather than on Free.
