Publishing tools
Publishing tools: playtests, Steam page, website and launch tools
Publishing tools is a screen for one game, with tabs for Launch plan, Market, Steam page, Website, Video studio, Social posts, Ads and Playtests, and Export beside them. Some of its tools are paid features, and the rest are free on every account.
Opening Publishing tools
With the game’s editor open, Publishing Tools is one of the editor’s main screens, beside 2D, 3D, Script and Game, with the chat docked on its left. With the editor closed, or the chat moved into Flockbay’s window, it opens in the window beside the game’s chat. Open it from its tab in the editor, Open Publishing tools in the project menu, or Project › Export in Publishing Tools… in Godot’s menu. Each tab carries a word on where it stands, such as a playtest count or "Live", with its meaning on hover, and Ctrl⌘+PageDown and Ctrl⌘+PageUp move to the next and previous tab. Draft, Fix and Ask with Flockbay in any tab send to the game’s chat, wherever that chat is.
Paid features
Playtest links, Steam page drafting by Flockbay, website publishing, Video studio, Social posts and Ads are paid features, on a plan. Hobby has a taste of each, and Indie Developer adds Ads, trailers and ad cuts, scheduled posts and more of each. The plans dialog lists what each plan includes. When a feature’s screen carries a Free in beta chip, your account has that feature free until December 1, 2026.
Free on every account: Export, playing other creators’ playtests inside Flockbay from the Playtest exchange, preparing the Steam page by hand and its .zip, building and previewing a website and its .zip, and the game’s Steam numbers.
Playtests
Share for playtesting…, in the project menu, exports a build and makes a link. Testers play it in Flockbay Playtest, which they install from the link if they need to, and the link plays for 30 days. Testers get a debug build, so errors come back with the script line that threw them.
Each build is named from your game’s version and commit, such as "b2 · v0.4.1 · a1b2c3d". The Playtests screen shows every session with its recording, errors and frame rate, and the bugs testers report with F7. A guest saves the account before sharing a link.
List in Playtest exchange puts the build where other creators find it and can playtest it, and on your profile; Unlist takes it off.
Steam page
The Steam page walks through the parts Steamworks asks for, in Steamworks’ own names: the title and details, short and long descriptions, tags, capsule art and library assets, screenshots and trailer, price, features, languages, system requirements, mature content, the AI disclosure and the legal lines, with a store page preview beside them.
Each step can be filled by hand, or with Draft … with Flockbay, which marks what it wrote as Drafted by Flockbay with Undo. The last step, Review & export, packs the page as a .zip: one text file per field, the capsules, the library assets, the screenshots, and a README that names the Steamworks page each part goes on. You upload it in Steamworks yourself. The page is kept on your computer.
Website
A game’s website is the website/ folder in its project: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript that Flockbay, or your own agent, writes from the game’s own material, such as a home page with the trailer and a Wishlist on Steam button, a press kit, and an email signup. Publishing tools previews it at desktop and phone widths and exports it as a .zip.
Publishing puts it on <name>.flockbay.app, or on a domain you own. You press Publish, Publish changes and Unpublish; no AI publishes.
Video studio
Video studio makes devlogs, trailers, Shorts and ad cuts from your game’s own footage, on Flockbay’s hosted model or your own AI, which you choose for each video. Narration and music come from the plan’s usage. An account with no plan makes one free video, its narration and music included.
Social posts and Ads
Social posts connects your social accounts and schedules posts of your videos.
Ads runs ads for your game on your own Meta, Google, TikTok and Reddit ad accounts. Flockbay drafts the campaign; you press Launch, on a button that names the budget and the ad account it bills, and the ad platform bills that account. Flockbay takes nothing on the spend. A live campaign can always be paused or ended, plan or no plan.
Launch plan and Market
Launch plan holds where your game releases, the steps to get there and when each one is due, beside the game’s Steam numbers, read once a day: followers, an estimated wishlist range, and exact wishlists when you add your own Steamworks key, which stays on your computer. Market lists comparable games on Steam: what they sold, your odds, and how they got seen. Neither is a paid feature.
