A snow roof is a winter, not a coat of paint

Every cabin on this page is from Holiday Kit, and the kit is Christmas whether or not you asked for Christmas. Corners, log corners, a rotating door, doorways biased left and right and centre, a fence, an overhang, a chimney, a dormer, a pointed roof, and then the same roofs again with snow. There is a wreath on a wall and a low wall for a porch. It is a single cabin you assemble, not thirty-one cabins. Built once, it is a place. Built thirty-one times, it is a lumberyard.

The game that wants it is a winter camp, not a seaside cottage. The base-building survival template starts from a shelter the player returns to, which is what a cabin is for. Change the season before you change the wallpaper. The snow roofs and the bare roofs are the same cabin in two weathers, and using both in one shot is two seasons at once. Pick one. Then stop at one doorway. A cabin with four doors is a corridor. The chimney, the dormer and the fence are the details that make it a place someone lives; they are also the details that make it obviously a holiday diorama if you add every wreath.
