How to embed the Steam widget and your trailer

Steam serves a store widget for every game at store.steampowered.com/widget/<your app ID>/. Embed it with one iframe about 646 pixels wide and 190 tall; it shows the capsule, short description, price and a button to the store page. For the trailer, use YouTube's embed code or your own MP4 in a video tag, muted and looping for a hero. A plain "Wishlist on Steam" link to your store page works everywhere, including phones where the widget is wide.

One iframe and the store comes to your page

Steam's widget is the quickest way to put a buy or wishlist path on your site. It updates itself with your price and description, so there is nothing to maintain.

The Steam widget

Replace APPID with your game's app ID:

<iframe src="https://store.steampowered.com/widget/APPID/" frameborder="0" width="646" height="190" loading="lazy" title="Steam store widget"></iframe>

On phones

The widget is wide. On small screens, show a large "Wishlist on Steam" button linking to https://store.steampowered.com/app/APPID/ instead, or alongside.

The trailer

  • YouTube: use the Share > Embed code; set it to not show related videos from other channels if your settings allow.
  • Your own file: an MP4 in a video tag. For a background hero, use muted, autoplay, loop and playsinline, and keep the file small.
