How to get your game into newsletters, curated lists and streams

Many indie game newsletters, curated lists and Steam curators take submissions, usually through a form or an email address on their site. Find the ones that covered games like yours, send a short pitch with the hook, a trailer, a key and the Steam link, and time it before a demo, festival or launch. To find streamers, look at who played your comparables on Twitch in the last year, and at Twitch's category pages for your genre.
Small lists, loyal readers
A newsletter for one genre may reach a few thousand readers, but they open it because they want exactly that kind of game. That is a better fit than a big site's front page.
Finding them
- Search for "[genre] indie games newsletter" and "upcoming [genre] games" lists.
- Look at which curators review your comparables on Steam.
- Note who streamed your comparables on Twitch.
Keep a sheet: name, submission method, genres, last contacted.
What to send
The hook in one line, the trailer, a key, the Steam link and a date. Follow the submission form exactly; curators and editors skip pitches that ignore it.
