Flockbay vs Moonlake: interactive worlds, and where Moonlake went
2 min read

Moonlake AI came out of stealth in 2025 promising interactive worlds from a prompt, and it was widely described as an AI game maker. On 26 September 2026 its homepage described a world model for robots instead. Here is how that compares with Flockbay.
What Moonlake launched as
Press coverage in 2025 described Moonlake as a generative game engine, founded by Stanford and NVIDIA researchers, with a $28 million seed round, that turned descriptions into interactive worlds.
Those are reports, not Moonlake's own current words, so treat them as history.
What its site says now
On 26 September 2026, moonlakeai.com described "the world model and simulation layer for deployment", aimed at robots learning tasks. Its page offered a demo booking, and stated no pricing, platform or game export.
What that means if you wanted a game tool
If you were looking at Moonlake to make a game, its current site does not describe a game product you can sign up for. Check it again yourself before deciding, since companies change direction.
How Flockbay compares
Flockbay is a desktop app for Windows or Mac that makes games. You describe the game, answer the AI's questions, approve a brief, and it builds a Godot project on your disk. Flockbay is free on your own AI: your Claude or ChatGPT plan, your own agent, or an API key.
Where Moonlake is the better pick
For robotics simulation and world models for training robots, which is what its site now describes. Flockbay does nothing of the kind.
How to check an AI tool that has changed direction
Read the company's own homepage and pricing page, not reviews from when it launched. Look for a sign-up that leads to the product you want, and for terms about what you own.
AI companies change focus often in their first years. A tool that fitted your needs at launch may not today, and one that did not may have grown into it.
The same advice applies to every tool in this space, including us: read the current page, and try the product before relying on it.
Where Flockbay is the better pick
For making a game you can play, share and sell today, as a native Windows or Mac program.
Flockbay and Moonlake, read 26 Sep 2026
Read from each tool’s own website on 26 September 2026. Where a site does not say, the table says “Not stated”. The pages each row was read from are listed on the row.
