# Refunds and cancelling

The download is free, and so is the AI, hosted or your own, with optional plans for more hosted AI. If you are on a plan, here is how cancelling works and what to do if a charge looks wrong. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, on the official Godot engine.

## Nothing to pay to start

Flockbay is free to download for Windows, macOS and Linux, and the AI is free: Demo each day, or your Claude or ChatGPT plan, your own agent, or an API key. Nothing about the engine, the world tools or the manual controls is held back. Plans for more hosted AI are optional: Hobby $20, Indie Developer $60 and Studio $200 a month.

So for a new account there is nothing to refund, and finding out whether the tool suits how you work costs nothing. It is a desktop app that needs an internet connection to build with, it runs your game locally on Godot, and it does not run in a browser. If any of that is a problem, you will discover it before money is involved.

## If you are on a plan

A plan is a monthly subscription rather than a licence bought once, and it renews until you stop it.

There is no team plan, no per-seat pricing and no enterprise tier, so there is no contract to unwind.

Cancelling stops the next payment, and a plan already paid for runs to the end of the month. [You do not lose your work](/answers/what-happens-if-i-stop-paying/) by cancelling: your project is a Godot project in a folder on your own disk, and you keep building free.

On-demand usage is charged after you use it, and usage that has been provided is not refunded. If a request failed on our side and was still charged, write to us and we refund it. If you cancel a plan, on-demand usage not yet charged is charged when you cancel.

## If a charge looks wrong

Write to ed@flockbay.com. That covers a payment you did not expect, a charge after you thought you had cancelled, or a plan that did not work.

Include what happened and roughly when, because that lets us look at the actual account rather than guess. We would rather sort out a specific problem than argue about a policy line.

## What your own AI costs is between you and its company

On your own AI, the AI you connect is paid for where you already pay for it: your Claude or ChatGPT plan, your API account, or whatever your own agent runs on. Flockbay does not charge for any of it, so a question about one of those charges goes to that company.

## Questions

### How do I cancel?

From Billing, in your account on flockbay.com. Cancelling stops the next payment, and charges any on-demand usage not yet charged; nothing is deleted from your disk.

### Do I lose my projects if I cancel?

No. Projects are standard Godot projects stored on your own machine, and you can keep building free on your own AI.

### Can I switch plans?

Yes. Billing, in your account on flockbay.com, moves you up to Indie Developer or Studio, and it is where you cancel. Cancelling stops the next payment.

### Who do I contact about billing?

Write to ed@flockbay.com with what happened and roughly when, and we will look at the account.

### Can I get on-demand usage refunded?

Usage that was provided is not refundable. A request that failed on our side and was charged anyway is refunded; write to us.
