# Privacy: what leaves your computer

Your projects stay on your computer, and Flockbay keeps no copy of them. What leaves depends on what builds and what you share: this page lists each case, and where to turn it off.

## Your project stays on your computer

A project is a folder on your computer, and Flockbay never uploads it or keeps a copy of it. Nothing of it reaches Flockbay’s server except what this page names: what a turn on a hosted model reads, and what you choose to share.

Your sign-in, your API keys and any Steamworks key are kept in your operating system’s credential store on this computer.

## What builds, and where the text goes

Whatever builds, Flockbay’s tools and instructions are served to your account by Flockbay’s server.

| Building on | Where the conversation goes |
| --- | --- |
| The free hosted model, Auto or a plan’s models | Your messages, and what the agent reads from your project during a turn, go through Flockbay’s server to the model’s provider. |
| Your Claude Code | From Claude Code on your computer to Anthropic, on your own Claude account. Flockbay sets no API key and no proxy for it. |
| Your ChatGPT | From Codex on your computer to OpenAI, on your own ChatGPT account. |
| An API key | To that key’s vendor: OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic or DeepSeek. A chat key goes only to its vendor. |
| Your own agent over MCP | To your agent’s own provider. Flockbay’s MCP server runs on your computer. |

## Making assets

A picture, a sound, a voice-over, music or a 3D model is made by Flockbay’s server, so the request behind it goes there, whatever builds. On a key of your own for pictures, sound or 3D, the key rides that request; the server calls the vendor with it and keeps no copy. Connectors says this under each key’s field.

A 3D model Flockbay builds itself is made on your computer. The one exception is a person with walk clips: that model is sent to Flockbay’s server to fit the clips to its skeleton, and sent back.

## What you share

Uploads happen only when you press for them: a playtest build you share with **Share for playtesting…**, a website you publish, a video you post with Social posts, a campaign you launch with Ads, a Community profile you make, and logs you send with **Send logs…**. Logs are sent with paths, email addresses and keys removed; the dialog lists each file first, and opens each one so you can read it.

## Usage data

Settings › Privacy › **Send usage data** covers what happens in the app, crash reports, and your profile’s activity, with no prompt, reply or file in them. Turn it off and the app sends none of it; a rating or a report you send still goes.

On Claude Code, Flockbay reads Claude Code’s auth status, the models it offers and how much of your plan’s limits is left, and counts that Claude Code was picked, signed in and used. Those are events, with no prompt, no reply and no file name in them. [Claude Code](/docs/build-with-your-claude-plan/) has the details.
