# How do I get Godot’s Scene dock and Inspector back?

Every project opens in the Minimal view: the chat and the Game screen. The switch at the right end of the editor’s title bar picks Standard, which adds the Scene and Node docks, the Inspector, FileSystem, the Script editor and the bottom panel, or Full, all of Godot’s editor. It applies at once.

## Three ways to switch

1. In the editor’s title bar, press the switch at the right end, which reads Minimal, Standard or Full, and pick a view. Its tooltip says what each keeps.
2. Or press **Change view…** on the hint at the top of the chat in the Minimal view.
3. Or press Ctrl+Shift+P in the Godot editor and run **Switch Editor View (Minimal/Standard/Full)**.

## For every project

Settings › **Editor view** makes the same choice for every project, used the next time one opens. In Full, the chat is a dock like Godot’s own: **Focus Chat** (Ctrl+Alt+I) brings it back wherever it last was, and Editor › Editor Layout › Default gives Godot’s own arrangement back.
